Mrs. Mary K. Sweet, 39 of Ruth, passed away Wednesday, September 14, 2011 at St. Mary Medical Center in Saginaw. She was born on October 1, 1971 in Harbor Beach to Larry and Lana (Reid) Reidel. She married James Sweet on March 17, 1989 in Bad Axe. Mary was a graduate of Harbor Beach High School. She attended Davenport University. She was employed at Autumnwood of Deckerville for 2 years, Harbor Beach Wire Factory for 2 years, and WooHoo’s in Ruth for about a year. She enjoyed playing bingo and couponing. She spent most of her time at home with her family and her faithful companion “Peanut”, the chiuhuahua that accompanied her everywhere. Besides James, her husband, Mary’s “Little Man” was the love of her life. Mary is survived by her husband of 22 years, James “Jim” Sweet of Ruth; her three children, Justin Sweet and his significant other, Shannon Wolschleger, Joshua Sweet and his significant other, Tasha Trowhill, Tara Sweet and her significant other, Mikel Schmidt, all of Ruth; her “Little Man”, grandson, Lincoln; Her parents, Larry and Lana Reidel of Harbor Beach; two sisters, Dee McNeil and her husband, Gary of Helena, Helen Herron of Ruth; her best friend, Jimmy Loss and his significant other, Brandy Glentz of Minden City; nieces and nephews. The funeral service will be 7 pm Saturday, September 17 at the Smigielski Funeral Home on Cass Ave in Minden City. Rev. Monique Carpenter of the Minden City Methodist Church, will officiate. Cremation will take place after the service. Visitation will be at the Smigielski Funeral Home on Saturday from 2-7 pm.
