Donald Glenn Reilich

Mr. Donald G. Reilich, 73 of Ubly, passed away Monday morning, November 21, 2011 at his residence with his family by his side under hospice care. He was born April 10, 1938 in Detroit to the late Donald P. Reilich and his natural mother, Grace (Reshke). He was later adopted by Elizabeth Bradley. He married Beverly Burely on October 1, 1966 at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Bad Axe. Don attended school in Birmingham and was a graduate of Bad Axe High School. He was an engineer for the Hills and Dales Hospital in Cass City for 19 years, retiring in 2006. He enjoyed hunting, RVing and fishing. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Beverly Reilich of Ubly; one son Bradley and his wife, Terri of Ubly; one sister, Lynne Tschirhart of Bad Axe; his aunt, Betty Mould of Beverly Hills, Mich.; one sister-in-law, M. Patricia (Gary) O’Connor of Caro; three brothers-in-law, Clayton (Gloria) Burley of Vassar, W.F. “Bill” (Jeri) Burley of Plymouth Twp., Edward (Dana) Burley of Traverse City; his nieces and nephews, Nick (Erica) Tschirhart, Jake (Anne) Tschirhart, Mary (Marvin) Bridges, Stacy Laetham, Rick (Brenda) O’Connor, Bill O’Connor, Susan (Sydney) Howard, Tina (Mark) Bender, Tammie (Jeff) Floyd, Sally (Rod) Pritcett, Matt (Dawn) Burley, Jessica (Ryan) Goff, Nathan (Kristi) Burley, R.J., Calab, Amy, Naomi, Claudia, Aiden, Jason, and Michael Burley; great nieces and nephews, great great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, father-in-law and mother-in-law, William and Theda Beverly Burley, one niece, Dawn Kleinsmith, one nephew, Chas Burley. The funeral service will be 11 am Wednesday, November 23 at Zinger-Smigielski Funeral Home in Ubly. Rev. David Thomas, pastor of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Bad Axe. Burial will be in Colfax Cemetery in Bad Axe. Visitation will be at the Zinger-Smigielski Funeral Home in Ubly on Tuesday from 1:30-9 pm and Wednesday from 10 am until the service at 11am. Memorials are requested to Sleeper Public Library in Ubly or St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Bad Axe.
