Mrs. Emma R. Stepka, 81 of Ubly, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday morning, December 6, 2011 at Hills and Dales Hospital in Cass City. Emma was born on May 25, 1930 in Ubly to the late Benjamin and Alice (Ross) Grenier. She married Joseph Stepka on September 10, 1955 at St. Stephen’s Church in Port Huron. He preceded her in death on February 29, 2000. She was a graduate of St. Stephen’s Catholic School in Port Huron. She worked at and retired from Lyntex Manufacturing. She was a parishioner at St. Ignatius Catholic Church in Freiburg where she was a member of the Altar Society. She as also a member of the Ubly VFW Ladies Auxiliary. Emma is survived by her four children, Daniel Stepka and his wife, Donna of Ubly, Lynn Agnello and her husband, Robert of Avon, NY, Tony Stepka of Ubly, Mary Kenny of Sandusky; five grandsons, Joseph Stepka, Justin Stepka, Rob Agnello, Ben Agnello and Tyler Kenny; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one brother, Robert Grenier; one sister, Lizzette “Maggie” Franzel, an infant brother, an infant sister, Lillian; three sisters-in-law, Mavis Roberts and her husband, Clarence, Olive Grifka and her husband, Alex, Erma Osantowski and her husband, Robert. The memorial Mass will be 11 am Saturday, December 10 at St. Ignatius Catholic Church in Freiburg. Rev. Joseph Griffin, pastor, will officiate. Visitation will be with Emma’s family on Saturday from 9-11 am at St. Ignatius Catholic Church only. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations to the Family Discretionary Fund for a beloved family member’s medical costs.
