Mr. Floyd B. Morell, 84 of Ubly, passed away Monday, December 26, 2011 at his residence under hospice care. Floyd was born on March 5, 1927 in Sanilac County to the late Isadore and Josephine (Osentoski) Morell. He married Lorraine Carson on October 8, 1949 at St. John Catholic Church in Ubly. She preceded him in death on January 11, 1998. He was a graduate of the Ubly Community Schools and later drove bus for the Ubly Schools. He was a local farmer. He worked for Ralph Brown as a plumber and other various jobs. He was a parishioner at St. John Catholic Church in Ubly. He enjoyed working in his garden, building various things, watching the Detroit Tigers and spending time with his children and grandchildren. Floyd is survived by nine children, Douglas and his wife, Gerri of Gagetown, Linda Jackson and her special friend, Dave Morrison, of Palms, Susanne Thomas and her husband, Dennis of Macomb, Nancy Bush and her special friend, Richard, of Ubly, Dennis and his wife Sue of Minden City, Charlene Meyer and her husband Keith of Sandusky, Tom of Bad Axe Denise Stomack and her husband Eric of Minden City, Brenda Swartz and her husband, Edward of Minden City, 20 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, three sisters, Margaret Hey of Bad Axe, Genevieve Gracey and her husband Roland of Bad Axe, Bernice Witkowski and her husband, Stanley of Saginaw; one sister-in-law, Ann Morell of Ubly. He was preceded in death by one infant daughter, Marsha Morell; great grandson, Kegan Jackson, three sisters, Sophie Kubacki, Irene Guarnieri and Marie Morell; three brothers, Art, John and Michael Morell. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 am Friday, December 30 at St. John Catholic Church in Ubly. Rev. Joseph Griffin, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be at the Zinger-Smigielski Funeral Home in Ubly on Thursday from 1:30-9 pm and Friday from 10-11 am at the church only. There will be a parish vigil service Thursday evening at 7 pm at the funeral home.
