Joseph Dybilas

Mr. Joseph Dybilas, 87 of Ubly, passed away Tuesday, December 27, 2011 at St. Mary Hospital in Saginaw. He was born on August 8, 1924 in Hamtramck to the late John and Maryanna (Pawlicka) Dybilas. He married Germaine Puszykowski on November 6, 1954 at St. Rita’s Catholic Church in Saginaw. Joseph attended the Tanner Country School as a child. He served in the US Air Force and was honorably discharged. He was a dairy farmer for 55 years and worked for Thumb Industries in Bad Axe for over 17 years. He enjoyed woodworking and landscaping his yard in his spare time. Joseph is survived by his wife of 57 years, Germaine “Jeri” Dybilas of Ubly; two sons, Stephen Dybilas and his wife, Carol of Ubly, Paul Dybilas of Meeker, Colorado; one daughter, Kathy Esther and her husband, Russell of Greenville, Mich.; 7 grandchildren; 2 step grandchildren; 1 great grandchild; two sisters, Nora Peters and Josephine Wolschlager, both of Ubly. He was preceded in death by 5 infant daughters, Geanine, Judith, Jane, Michele & Delphine; two sisters, Sabina Guigar and her husband, Daniel and Irene Sieradzki and her husband, Ed. The funeral Mass will be 11 am Saturday, December 31 at St. John Catholic Church in Ubly. Rev. Joseph Griffin, pastor will officiate. Burial will be in the St. Columbkille Cemetery in the spring. Visitation will be at the Zinger-Smigielski Funeral Home in Ubly on Friday from 2-8 pm and Saturday from 10-11 am at the church only. There will be a parish vigil service Friday evening at 7 pm at the funeral home.
