Peter R. Wodwaski

Mr. Peter R. Wodwaski, 63 of Ubly and lifelong resident of Paris Township, passed away suddenly Wednesday morning, January 4, 2012 at the Huron Medical Center. He was born on June 4, 1948 in Bad Axe to Emma (Chwalisz) Wodwaski and the late John Wodwaski Sr. Farming was Peter’s life. He was an avid sports fan. He was a friend of Bill W. Peter is survived by his beloved friend Dawn Toy of Bad Axe; his mother, Emma Wodwaski of Midland; one brother, John Wodwaski Jr. and his wife, Elaine of Ruth; four sisters, Bernadette Messing of Minden City, Adrian Wodwaski of Ubly, Kathryn Bede and her husband, Rene of Burton, Lucille Wodwaski of Midland; many nieces and nephews. Peter was preceded in death by one sister, Mary Grace, one brother, Dennis; one brother-in-law, Vincent Messing Sr.; two nieces, Mary Messing and Cheryl Bede. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 am Saturday, January 7 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Parisville. Rev. Robert Howe, pastor of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Bad Axe, will officiate. Burial will be in the St. Mary Cemetery. Visitation will be at the Zinger-Smigielski Funeral Home in Ubly on Friday from 1:30-9 pm and on Saturday from 10-11 am at the church only. There will be a parish vigil service on Friday evening at 7:30 pm at the funeral home.
