Mrs. Nora Irene Peters, 93 of Ubly, passed away Friday, January 13, 2012 at Courtney Manor in Bad Axe. She was born on May 23, 1918 in Hamtramck to the late John and Mary (Pawlicka) Dybilas. She married Joseph S. Peters on July 23, 1938 at St. Ignatius Catholic Church in Freiburg. He preceded her in death on May 24, 1974. Nora graduated from the Tanner Country School. She worked with her husband and family on their family farm in Austin Township. She was a packer for Dotts Manufacturing until she retired at the age of 85. She was a lifelong parishioner at St. Ignatius Catholic Church in Freiburg. he enjoyed quilting, bingo, dancing, visiting casinos, traveling to Arizona, Germany and France, visiting with family and her grandchildren, especially their sports. She is survived by four daughters, Mary Ann Roberts and her husband Ken of Saginaw, Frances Kritzman and her husband, Eugene of Snover, Christine Martson and her husband, Wallace of Snover, Irene Peruski and her fiancé, Steven of Snover; three sons, Joseph Jr. And his wife, Dorothy “Liz” of Lake Orion, Thomas and his wife, Diane of North Branch, David and his fiancee, Shelia of Lapeer; 18 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; one sister, Josephine Wolschlager of Ubly; two sisters-in-law, Helen Peters and Germaine “Jeri” Dybilas, both of Ubly. She was preceded in death by one great grandson; two sisters, Sabina “Sara” Guigar, Irene Sieradzki; one brother Joseph Dybilas. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 am Tuesday, January 17 at St. Ignatius Catholic Church in Freiburg. Rev. Joseph Griffin, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be at the Zinger-Smigielski Funeral Home in Ubly on Monday from 2:30-9 pm and Tuesday from 10-11 am at the church only. There will be a parish vigil service at 7 pm Monday at the funeral home.
