Beatrice Theresa Roth

Mrs. Beatrice (Hessling) Roth, 87 of Minden City, passed away Monday, January 16, 2012 at Courtney Manor in Bad Axe surrounded by her loving family. Beatrice was born on May 16, 1924 in Harbor Beach, daughter of the late John and Cecelia (Gentner) Hessling. She graduated from Track School near Harbor Beach. She married Raymond Roth on June 5, 1943 at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Ruth. He preceded her in death on January 14, 1992. She farmed with her husband in Delaware Township and was known for the many beautiful quilts she made. She was a parishioner of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Palms where she was a member of the League of Catholic Women. She enjoyed visiting and playing cards and dominos with her family and friends. Beatrice is survived by her nine children, Larry (Angie) Roth of Bay City, Robert (Nancy) Roth of North Street, MI, Thomas (Sharon) Roth of Minden City, Linda (Mark) Wehner of Tecumseh, Barbara (George) Ellwanger of Boyne City, Mary (James) Coryell of Bellaire, Susan (James) McDonald of Port Huron, Stephen Roth of Kingston, N.Y., Lori (Mike) Lizak of Royal Palm Beach, Fla.; 26 grandchildren; 35 great grandchildren, one brother, Ken (Veronica ) Hessling of Palms, two sisters-in-law, Bette Hessling of Harbor Beach and Edna Roth of Palms; one brother-in-law, Walter Phare of Port Huron; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two sisters, infant Ruth Audrey Hessling and Marie Lemanski and her husband, Norman; two brothers John and Ray Hessling; one sister-in-law, Mary Hessling; her husband’s family, George and Clara Roth, three brothers-in-law Tony Roth, John Roberts and Dan Casstevens; four sisters-in-law Helen Franzel, Mabel Roberts, Emma Casstevens and Mary Phare. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 am Friday, January 20 at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Palms, Rev. Donald Eppenbrock will officiate. Burial will be in the Sts. Peter & Paul Cemetery in Ruth. Visitation will be Thursday from 2:00 until 9:00 P.M. at the Smigielski Funeral Home on Cass Ave in Minden City and Friday from 10:00 until the mass at 11:00 A.M. at St. Patrick Church. There will be a parish vigil service Thursday evening at 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Memorials have been requested to St. Patrick Church or Hospice Advantage.
