Joseph Priemer

Mr. Joseph Priemer, 84 of Harbor Beach passed away Thursday, March 1, 2012 at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in Port Huron. Joe was born on January 23, 1928 in Harbor Beach to the late Lucas and Anna (Hessling) Priemer. He married June Walker on February 16, 1952. Joe was a retired farmer. He also retired from Leader Tool. He was an avid fan of education and donated largely to the Michigan State Education Fund. He enjoyed vacationing with his wife and friends. He also enjoyed playing euchre at the House of Knowledge. Joe is survived by his wife of 60 years, June of Harbor Beach; four children, Cindy (Frank Hughes) Priemer of Ruth, Thomas (Karen) of Harbor Beach, Crystal (Marvin) Mosher of Fort Gratiot, Eric (Crystal) of Ruth; eight grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; one brother, Eugene; five sisters, Johanna, Rita, Doris, Delores, Coletta; many nieces and nephews. Joe was preceded in death by one sister, Winnie. The funeral service will be 11 am Monday, March 5 at the Zinger-Smigielski Funeral Home in Ubly. Rev. Donald Eppenbrock will officiate. Burial will be in the St. Anthony cemetery in Helena. Visitation will be at the Zinger-Smigieslki Funeral Home in Ubly on Sunday from 3:00-8:00 pm and Monday from 10:00 am until the service at 11.
