June Nietta Palmer

June 18, 1918 — May 16, 2012

Mrs. June N. Palmer, 93 of Ubly, passed away May 16, 2012 at Huron Medical Center with her family by her side. She was born on June 18, 1918 in Sanilac County, daughter of the late William and Gertrude Schenk. She married Harry Palmer on August 17, 1940 in Sandusky. He preceded her in death on August 16, 1999. June was employed at Mill End of Bad Axe for 28 years before she retired in 1973. She lived in Ubly since 1944. June loved to cook and bake. No one ever left her house hungry. She was talented and loved to play her guitar at church. She will be loved forever and missed by all. Her smile and feisty personality will live on forever in the hearts of her precious family. June is survived by her children, Blanche and Raymond Osantowski of Melvin, Patricia Palmer of Ubly, Debra Wurdock of Unionville. She was blessed with 10 grandchildren, Harry Osantowski and friend Kim, June and Mike Rich, William Osantowski and friend, Ron, Robin and Leroy Wolschleger, Steve Osantowski and friend, Lisa, Rodney and Stacey Osantowski, Timothy and Amanda Osantowski, Tammy and Mark Miller, Joshua Wurdock, Scott Wurdock and friend, Tami; eight great grandchildren, Ken & Jessica Essenmacher, Aaron and Ashley Rich, Alysa Wolschleger, Nathan Osantowski, Brendan & Claire Miller, Trisha Rich, Beionca & Chris Klee; two great great grandsons, Connor Essenmacher and Jackson Klee; one sister, Arlene Champagne; sister-in-law, Gertrude Schenk. She was preceded in death by two great grandsons, Raymond and Daniel Osantowski; one sister, Vera Fahs and husband, Norman; two brothers, Earl and Joseph Schenk. The funeral service will be 1:00 pm Saturday, May 19 at the Ubly United Methodist Church. Pastor Pam Barnett of the Ubly United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Valley Cemetery in Ubly. Visitation will be at the Zinger-Smigielski Funeral Home in Ubly, on Friday from 1:30-9:00 pm and Saturday from 12:00-1:00 pm at the church only. Memorials have been requested to the Family Discretionary Fund.
