Elmer E. Skipinski (Skrzypinski)

Mr. Elmer E. Skipinski, 77, of Ubly, passed away Wednesday, May 23, 2012 at Covenant Harrison Hospital of Saginaw. Elmer was born on February 9, 1935 in Ubly, son of the late Edward and Agnes (Dropiewski) Skrzypinski (Skipinski). He never married. Elmer was a graduate of Ubly Elementary School. He was employed at Joseph Niemic Auto Parts for many years. He also owned and operated Skipinski Garage and Towing Service. Elmer was a lifelong member of St. John’s Catholic Church in Ubly. He enjoyed Tiger baseball, the Ubly Dragway, as well as canning, picking mushrooms, hunting, and fishing. Elmer is survived by two brothers, Joseph Skipinski, and Ronald Skipiniski of Ubly; two sisters, Delores Ulfig, and Bernice (Skipinski) Becker and her husband Armen, both of Ubly; sixteen nieces and nephews; Special caregiver Staci Martin. He was preceded in death by one sister, Eleanor Koss, and many aunts and uncles. The funeral mass will be 11 a.m. Saturday, May 26 at St. John Catholic Church in Ubly. The Rev. Joseph Griffin, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be at the Zinger-Smigielski Funeral Home in Ubly on Friday from 1-9 p.m. and Saturday from 10-11 a.m. at the church only. There will be a Vigil Service Friday at 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials are requested to go to the Family Discretionary Fund.
