Virginia Therese Kroetsch

Mrs. Virginia T. Kroetsch, 83, of Minden City, Passed away Saturday, July 14, 2012 at Autumnwood of Deckerville. Virginia was born on April 7, 1929 in Sherman Township to the late Anthony and Julia (Glaza) Schumacher. She married John Heilig on August 20, 1947 at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Ruth. He preceded her in death in 1951. She married Wilfred Kroetsch on January 17, 1953 at Sts. Peter & Paul Church. He preceded her in death on October 19, 2002. Virginia was a 1947 graduate of the Minden City High School. She worked at Clements Manufacturing for 13 years. She also worked at Dott Manufacturing in Deckerville for 17 years before retiring in 1994. She bowled for years. Virginia loved working on jigsaw puzzles and truly enjoyed her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Virginia is survived by three sons, Thomas (Debi) Heilig of Independence, Kentucky, Roger (Carol) Kroetsch of Cass City, Terry (Sue) Kroetsch of Ubly; three daughters, Wendy (Albert) Maier and JoAnn (Phillip) Zdrojewski, both of Palms, Barbara (Joseph) Partaka of Minden City; 19 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one son John Heilig; two grandsons, Daniel Kroetsch and Connor Tarzwell, one granddaughter, Carrie Heilig, two daughter-in-laws, Sandra Kroetsch and Fay Heilig. Mass of Christian burial will be 11 am Tuesday, July 17, 2012 at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Ruth. Rev. Peter Nwokoye, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in the church Cemetery. Visitation will be at the Smigielski Funeral Home on Cass Ave. in Minden City on Monday from 3-9 pm and Tuesday from 10-11 am at the church only. There will be a parish vigil service on Monday evening at 7 pm at the funeral home.
