Eleanor C. Wasielewski

Mrs. Eleanor C. Wasielewski, 98 of Tyre, passed away Sunday, February 3, 2013 at the Huron Medical Center of Bad Axe. Eleanor was born on February 20, 1914 in Parisville to the late Joseph and Josephine (Gliniecki) Ertman. She married Theodore Wasielewski on November 10, 1934 at St. Ignatius Catholic Church in Freiburg. He preceded her in death on September 9, 1976. Eleanor attended high school in Hamtramck. She worked at Dominick General Store in Tyre for years and was a homemaker. Eleanor was a parishioner at St. Mary Catholic Church in Parisville since 1980 where she was a member of the St. Mary Rosary Sodality. She assisted with the parish fish fries at St. Ignatius Church in Freiburg. She enjoyed gardening and playing pinochle, euchre and bingo. Eleanor is survived by two daughters, Maxine (Joseph) Rutkowski of Ubly, Marie (Larry) Ritter of Bad Axe; nine grandchildren, Kenneth (Linda) Rutkowski, Albert (Geraldine) Rutkowski, Lynette (Larry) Ciejka, Doreen Rutkowski, Dean Rutkowski and special friend, Margo Valancia, Barbara Ritter, Duane (Tina) Ritter, Laura Diab Agha, Karl (Renee) Ritter; 16 great grandchildren, Connie Rutkowski and fiancé, Daniel Radloff, Brenda Rutkowski, Jason Rutkowski and special friend, Jessie Farmer, Lisa Rutkowski, Eric Rutkowski, Tammy Rutkowski and fiancé Thomas Drinnon II, Danial Rutkowski, Kevin Rutkowski, Becky Rutkowski, Anthony Rutkowski and fiancee Adrienne Schramski, Marianne (Ray) Rollet, Tracy (Matthew) Renspurger, Terry Goetze, Trista (Joshua) Smith, Nevaeh Ritter, Brady Ritter; three step great grandchildren, Kyle, Paige and Dylan Clement; six great great grandchildren, Kolby, Sydney, Ashlee, Brooke Renspurger, Anikah Ritter and Wyett Goetze; godchildren, Laverne Oparka, Marian Swartz, Lois Tezak, Alice Maffongelli, Kenneth Rutkowski and Barbara Ritter. She was preceded in death by three sisters, Irene Oparka, Bertha Ertman and Florence Bismack; seven brothers, Clements, Isadore, Sylvester “Bob”, Walter, John, Ervin “Chick” and Archie Ertman; two great grandsons, Arthur W. Thorp II and Max H. Ritter. Mass of Christian burial will be 11 am Wednesday, February 6 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Parisville. Rev. Peter Nwokoye, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in the St. John Cemetery in Ubly in the spring. Visitation will be at the Zinger-Smigielski Funeral Home in Ubly on Tuesday from 3:30-9 pm and Wednesday from 10-11 am at St. Mary Church only. There will be a rosary Tuesday at 4 pm at the funeral home by the St. Mary Rosary Sodality.
