Gerald Philip Gatza

Mr. Gerald P. Gatza, 77 of New Baltimore, passed away Monday, March 18, 2013 at the Henry Ford Hospital in Clinton Township. He was born on June 21, 1935 in Ubly to the late Philip and Katherine (Stelmack) Gatza. Gerald was a graduate of Ubly High School. He served his country in the US Army. He loved to listen and dance to polka music, play bingo and work on cars. He loved all animals. He truly loved his special pets and feeding the squirrels. Gerald is survived by one sister, Virginia “Jean” Hollis of New Baltimore; many loving nieces, nephews and all of his extended family. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Cass, Ernie and Martin Gatza, three sisters, Bertha Messing and her husband, Raymond, Rose Mazure and her husband, Henry and Suzanne Urban. Mass of Christian burial will be 2 pm Wednesday, March 27 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Parisville. Rev. Peter Nwokoye, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery in the spring. Visitation will be at St. Mary Catholic Church in Parisville on Wednesday from 12 noon until the Mass at 2 pm. Memorials have been requested to the St. Mary Church or the American Humane Society.
