Irvin E. Jaskoski

Mr. Irvin E. Jaskoski, 88, life long resident of Minden City, passed away Monday, July 29, 2013 at the Huron Medical Center in Bad Axe. Irvin was born on August 21, 1924 in Minden City to the late Peter and Agnes (Pelot) Jaskoski. He married Florence “Rosie” Peruski on October 2, 1946 at St. Mary Church in Parisville. Irvin was born, raised and resided on his family farm all his life. He attended the Minden City School. Irvin was a lifelong parishioner at St. Mary Catholic Church in Parisville. He was an avid pheasant hunter in his younger years. He enjoyed listening to his favorite team, the Detroit Tigers on the radio. Irvin was known as a hard working man who valued time with his wonderful family. Irvin is survived by his wife of 68 years, Florence “Rosie” Jaskoski of Minden City; three daughters, Jean Jaskoski of Medina, Ohio, Carol Jackson and her husband, Richard of Waterford, Beverly Vargo and her husband, Daniel of Salt Lake City, Utah; four grandchildren, Kristen Miller, Jeffrey Miller, Tom Jackson, David Jackson; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his siblings, Minnie Trepkowski, Emma Roloff, Jacob Jaskoski, Irene Bismack, Margaret Peplinski, and Edward Jaskoski; one son-in-law, Douglas Miller. Mass of Christian burial will be 11 am, Thursday, August 1 at St. Isadore Parish, St. Mary church in Parisville. Rev. Todd Arnberg, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery. Visitation will be at the Zinger-Smigielski Funeral Home in Ubly on Wednesday from 4:00-9:00 pm and Thursday from 10:00-11:00 am at St. Mary Church only. There will be a parish vigil service Wednesday evening at 7:00 pm at the funeral home.
