John F. Gucwa Sr.

John F. Gucwa Sr. 72 of Bad Axe, passed away Tuesday, March 25, 2014 at the Huron Medical Center in Bad Axe. John was born on August 28, 1941 in Bad Axe to the late Stanley and Mary (Krause) Gucwa. John was a graduate of Bad Axe High School. He farmed with his family and was the owner and operator of Gucwa Contracting. He enjoyed hunting, playing euchre, working a backhoe and tinkering. John is survived by his four children, John “Chip” Gucwa Jr. and his special friend, Holli Rhodes of Bad Axe, Jeff Gucwa and his special friend, Jennifer Simon of Ubly, Jodi Gucwa of Bad Axe, Jami McKichan and her husband, Doug of Bad Axe; four grandchildren, Ellery Gucwa, Shaelee Gucwa, Dennis Webber and Zoe McKichan; four step-children, Keri Sarles, Kevin Sarles, Krista Sarles and Kami Peters; five step-grandchildren; four step-great grandchildren. Memorial services for John Gucwa Sr. will be 2:00 pm Saturday, April 12, 2014 at the Zinger-Smigielski Funeral Home in Ubly. Mr. Jeffrey Snider of the Elkton Missionary Church will officiate. Visitation with John’s family will be at the Zinger-Smigielski Funeral Home on Saturday, April 12 from 1:00-2:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorials have been requested to the Family Discretionary Fund.
