Robert G. Jackson

Mr. Robert Gerald Jackson, 76 of Ubly passed away unexpectedly Wednesday morning, January 21, 2015 at Courtney Manor. He was born on May 7, 1938 in Cass City to the late Clifford and Thelma (Decker) Jackson. He married Joan Rumptz on November 16, 1963 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Ubly. Robert was a graduate of Ubly High School and the Detroit Electrical RET School. He was then employed in California for the military aerospace industry as an electronic aviation technician. He was also employed with Boeing Industries and retired in 1998. Robert enjoyed fishing in his younger years, watching TV, playing pool and cards, reading, and cryptograms. Robert is survived by his wife of 51 years Joan Jackson of Ubly; three children, Stephen F. Jackson and his wife, Cheryl of Sheridan Wyoming, Cindi L. Jackson of Orem, Utah, John R. Jackson and his wife, Donna of Apple Valley, Calif.; six grandchildren; three great grandchildren; his mother-in-law, Vivian Rumptz; six sisters-in-law; four brothers-in-law; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Clarence Rumptz; one sister-in-law; three brothers-in-law. A memorial Mass for Robert will be 11:00 am held Thursday, May 7, 2015 at St. John Catholic Church of Good Shepherd Parish in Ubly. Visitation with Robert’s family will be at church from 10:00 am until the mass at 11:00 am. Burial will be in the St. John Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials have been requested to the Family Discretionary Fund.
