Mrs. Pearl C. Franzel, 93 of Minden City, passed away Friday, January 23, 2015 at her residence under hospice care. She was born on August 7, 1922 in Minden City to the late Herman and Catherine (Lautner) Oswald. She married Martin Lincoln Franzel on October 3, 1942 at St. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Ruth. He preceded her in death on November 24, 1995. Pearl was an eighth grade graduate of the Kelly Country School and a graduate of the Minden City High School. She was a parishioner at Sts. Peter & Paul Church of Holy Apostle Parish in Ruth where she was also a member of the Christian Mothers. Pearl enjoyed attending church, dancing and her flower beds. She cherished time spent with her family. Pearl is survived by three sons, Ronald Franzel of Detroit, Russell Franzel of Minden City, Roger Franzel of Ubly; three daughters, Mary Peruski and her husband, Kenneth of Bad Axe, Susan Woodward and her husband, William of Snover, Kay Franzel of Cass City; 13 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one son, Richard Franzel, one grandson, Martin Franzel; one great granddaughter, Alexandra Franzel; one sister, Lula Miller; one brother, Ervin Oswald. Mass of Christian burial will be 11:00 am Tuesday, January 27 at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church of Holy Apostle Parish in Ruth. Rev. Donald Eppenbrock will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery in the spring. Visitation will be at Sts. Peter & Paul Church Tuesday morning from 10:00-11:00 am. There will be a rosary by the Sts. Peter & Paul Christian Mothers Tuesday morning at 10:15 at Church. Memorials have been requested to the Family Discretionary Fund.
