S. Anthony "Whitey" Zdrojewski

Mr. S. Anthony “Whitey” Zdrojewski, 84 of Palms, passed away Wednesday, April 29, 2015 at Autumnwood of Deckerville. He was born on June 20, 1930 in Palms to the late William and Lucy (Partaka) Zdrojewski. He married Doris Scott on June 13, 1953 at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Palms. Whitey was a graduate of Deckerville Elementary School. He worked at General Cable in Cass City for a few years. He farmed most of his life in the Palms area and retired in 1987. Whitey was a security guard at Michigan Peat Company in Minden City for a few years. He was a lifelong parishioner of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Palms. Whitey was an avid outdoors man and truly loved to hunt, trap and fish. Whitey is survived by his wife of 61 years, Doris of Palms, four sons, James “Porky” Zdrojewski of Palms, Steve Zdrojewski and his wife, Sue of North Carolina, Richard “Dick” Zdrojewski and his wife, Lana of Port Huron, Ronald Zdrojewski of Palms; one daughter-in-law, Joann Zdrojewski of Sandusky; 6 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; two sisters, Florence Hamill and Clara Essenmacher; one brother, Edward Zdrojewski. Whitey was preceded in death by two sons, Anthony “Bob” and Michael “Mike” Zdrojewski; two sisters, Grace Graff and her husband, Edward, Lucille Tepper and her husband, Albert; two brothers, James Zdrojewski and Daniel Zdrojewski and his wife, Louise; one sister-in-law, Bernita Zdrojewski; two brother-in-laws, John Essenmacher and Cecil Hamill. Mass of Christian burial will be 11:00 am Saturday, May 2, 2015 at St. Patrick Catholic Church of St. Isidore Parish in Palms. Rev. Todd Arnberg, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in the Downing Cemetery in Deckerville. Visitation will be at the Smigielski Funeral Home, 8545 Cass Ave., Minden City on Friday from 2:00-8:00 and Saturday from 10:00-11:00 am at the church only. There will be a parish vigil service Friday evening at 7:00 pm at the funeral home. Memorials are requested to the Family Discretionary Fund.
