Sylvester Albert Leppek

Mr. Sylvester A. Leppek, 95 of Cass City, passed away Wednesday, September 16, 2015 at the Huron Medical Center in Bad Axe. He was born on February 19, 1920 in Harbor Beach to the late Albert and Stella (Warchuck) Leppek. He married Mary Wik on July 4, 1953 at St. Florian Catholic Church in Hamtramck. She preceded him in death on November 6, 2012. Sylvester was an eighth grade graduate of the Eichles Country School. He was a milk hauler and did road construction. He farmed in both Sigel and Grant Townships. He worked for the GM Plant in Livonia for 28 years in the spring and bumper department. Sylvester enjoyed the Tigers, playing pinochle and gardening. Sylvester is survived by two daughters, Sylvia Miller and her husband, Dave of Cass City, Cathy Hahn of St. Helen; two sons, Jim Leppek and his wife, Lori, of Ubly, Larry Leppek and his wife, Brenda of Bad Axe; 6 grandchildren, Angi (Jesse) Rademacher, Nathan, Leandra, Janelle and Courtney Leppek, Samantha (Brian) Dorsch; four great grandchildren, Leisle, Seren and Crusoe Rademacher, Evolette Dorsch; one son-in-law, David Taylor of Nashville, MI. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Marian Taylor, two brothers, Henry and Raymond Leppek; one sister, Martha Susalla. Mass of Christian burial will be11:00 am Monday, September 21 at St. Columbkille Catholic Church, Good Shepherd Parish of Sheridan Corners, Ubly. Rev. Charles Hammond, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be Monday, September 21 at St. Columbkille Church from 10:00-11:00 am. Memorials have been requested to A&D Home Health Care or the donor’s choice.
