Marilyn F. Rutkowski

Marilyn F. Rutkowski, 78 of Ubly, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 23, 2015 surrounded by her loving family. Marilyn was born July 2, 1937 in Chicago, IL to the late Edward and Elizabeth (Kolar) Miklasz. Marilyn grew up in Chicago and graduated from Holy Family High School in 1955. She met the love of her life, Stanley Rutkowski while visiting her grandmother in the Cumber/Ubly area. They were married on July 14, 1962 at St. John Catholic Church in Ubly. He preceded her in death on May 21, 2013. Marilyn was employed as a secretarial supervisor in Chicago in the 1950’s. She was also a secretary for Trico Products in Detroit in the early 1960’s. Once married, Marilyn worked with her husband on the family farm in Ubly. Together, Stanley and Marilyn started their own business called Stan’s Refrigeration in 1969. Marilyn was the secretary and bookkeeper for the family business for 43 years until Stanley passed away in 2013. Marilyn was an extremely talented artist and had a very creative mind. Her many interests included drawing and painting, flower gardening, jigsaw puzzles, history and genealogy. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family. Marilyn is survived by her children, Jackie (Steve) Gracey of Ubly, Judy (Greg) Osentoski of Ubly and Stanley Jr. of Parisville; grandchildren, Branden (Kim) Osentoski of Sandusky, Tyler Osentoski and Kady Osentoski, both of Ubly; sister-in-law, Mary Jo Miklasz of Chicago; cousin, Charlotte (Melvin) Particka of Ubly; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Ann Essenmacher of Bad Axe, Janet (Earl) Roberts of Ubly, Christine (Ken) Roggenbuck of Harbor Beach, Sally Rutkowski of Port Huron; many nieces and nephews. Marilyn was preceded in death by an infant son; brother, Edward Miklasz; nephew, Alan Miklasz; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Frank and Rose Rutkowski; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Marie (Jim) Essenmacher, Hank Rutkowski, Richard Essenmacher, Virginia Rutkowski and Theresa (Joe) Moceri. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 am Tuesday, December 29 at St. Isidore Parish, St, Mary Church in Parisville, Rev. Todd Arnberg, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be at St. Mary’s Church in Parisville on Tuesday from 10:00 am until the Mass at 11:00. Memorials have been requested to the Family Discretionary Fund.
