Bernice Weber

September 28, 1944 — October 15, 2016

Mrs. Bernice Gladys Weber, 72 of Ubly, passed away Saturday, October 15, 2016 at McLaren Bay Region after a long hard battle with infection related issues. She was born on September 28, 1944 to the late Stanley and Gladys (Ulfig) Briolat. She married the love of her life, Jim on May 15, 1965. He preceded her in death after 24 wonderful years of marriage on October 11, 1989. Bernice and Jim enjoyed farming together most of their married life. They could always be caught hugging or stealing kisses in the alleyway of the barn when they thought nobody was looking. She was a parishioner of St. John Catholic Church of Good Shepherd Parish in Ubly where she was a member of the Christian Mothers. Bernice was a woman of strong faith that didn’t ask for much in life, a nice dinner at a restaurant, casino trips with her sister Sue or just visiting with family and friends. Bernice was truly a wonderful person with a listening ear. She had a special place in her heart for every one of her grandchildren whom she loved deeply. Anybody who came across her in life would say how caring and sweet she was. Bernice always had a positive outlook on every situation, stating that things must happen for a reason, even when she was faced with so many hardships throughout life. She always loved to get into a heated game of cards where she was known to change the rules a lot to benefit her. Bernice will be so deeply missed now that she is called to be with her Lord. Bernice is survived by five children, Lynn (Thomas) Farver of Ubly, Deborah (Kevin) Peruski of Ubly, Kenneth (Amy) Weber of Whittemore, Randy (Angela) Weber of Ubly, Denise (Kurt) Geiger of Harbor Beach; 19 grandchildren, T.J., Shelby and Brady Farver, Jordan, Bailey, Megan and Brent Peruski, Merisa, Cavin, Emma and Alley Weber, James, Adam, Elizabeth and Aaron Weber, Madelyn, Aubrey, Matthew and Joseph Geiger; one great grandchild, Adalyn Donathan; her siblings, Leonard (Marge) Briolat, Ernest (Bev) Briolat, Sue Briolat, Carol Beaudin, Ronald Briolat, Virgil (Elaine) Briolat, Charles Briolat and Robert (Annette) Briolat; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Michael (Pat) Weber, Delores (Greg) Mixter, Mildred Kirsch Sister Carol Weber, Marjorie (Ernie) Messing, Don (Shelley) Weber, Ron (Pat) Weber, JoAnn (John) Rutkowski, Rosemary (Tom) Reddy. Bernice was preceded by one granddaughter, Jillian Peruski and one brother-in-law, John Beaudin. Mass of Christian burial will be 11:00 am Wednesday, October 19 at St. John Catholic Church of Good Shepherd Parish in Ubly. Rev. Charles Hammond, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in the St. John Cemetery. Visitation will be at the Zinger-Smigielski funeral Home in Ubly on Tuesday from 2:00-9:00 pm and Wednesday from 9:00-10:00 am. There will be a Christian Mothers rosary Tuesday afternoon at 4:00 pm and a parish vigil service Tuesday evening at 7:00 pm. Both services will be at the funeral home.
