Alex E. Micklash

Mr. Alex E. Micklash, 78 of Ubly passed away Saturday, September 15, 2018 at Courtney Manor Rehabilitation Facility in Bad Axe.

            He was born on June 13, 1940 in Ubly to the late Edward and Mary (Plezia) Micklash. He never married.

            Alex was a graduate of St. Mary Elementary School. He farmed all his life, retiring in 2008. Alex drove school busses for 45 years. He drove for St. Mary Catholic School in Parisville for 11 years and for Ubly Community School for 34 years. Alex was an avid sportsman and loved to hunt deer and turkeys. He loved polka music and enjoying a meal at the Bay City Ponderosa. Alex loved spending time with his family, friends and his loyal four legged companion, Shep.

            Alex is survived by one sister, Jeanette Talaski of Bad Axe; one brother, Arthur (Sandy) Micklash of Bad Axe; three nieces and two nephews, Charlene (Richard) Marks, Janice Guisbert and her fiancé, Tim, Cynthia Ruth, Adam Micklash and his special friend, Stazy, Kyle Micklash.

            The Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 am, Wednesday, September 19 at St. Mary Catholic Church, St. Isidore Parish in Parisville. Rev. Todd Arnberg, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery.

            Visitation will be at the Zinger-Smigielski Funeral Home in Ubly on Tuesday from 2:00-8:00 pm and Wednesday at St. Mary Catholic Church in Parisville form 10:00-10:45 am. There will be a parish vigil service Tuesday evening at 7:00 pm at the funeral home.

            Memorials have been requested to the Family Discretionary Fund, care of Arthur Micklash.
