Brian E. Franzel

Mr. Brian E. Franzel, age 53 of Deckerville, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, January 6, 2022. Brian was born October 11, 1968 in Deckerville, Michigan, son of Cheryl (Phillips) and the late Richard L. Franzel. Having been born in Deckerville, Brian figured that it would be a good place to live, so that is what he did, never moving out of his wonderful home town. Brian was a friendly man, and had many passions in life. He was an avid hunter, taking every chance he could to get himself another deer to feed himself and those around him (if he felt like sharing, that is). Along with deer hunting, Brian also enjoyed going out fishing, traveling to Harbor Beach in his earlier years to fish for salmon. Overall, Brian was a lover of everything outdoors. Above his love for the outdoors, however, was his love for his family. Brian is survived by his mother, Cheryl Franzel of Deckerville; his sister, Christine Heilig of Minden City; his nephew, Kyle Franzel; niece Rebecca Bittner of Deckerville; his great niece Alexandria Bittner of Deckerville; and his many beloved aunts, uncles, and many, many cousins. Brian was preceded in death by his father, Richard Franzel; brother, Martin Franzel; his grandparents, Lincoln and Pearl Franzel, Russell and Margaret Phillips.
