Harry S. Grifka

Mr. Harry S. Grifka, 63 of Snover, passed away Saturday, January 19, 2019 at home surrounded by his loving family after a short illness.

            He was born on August 17, 1955 in Cass City, MI to Irene (Wozniak) Grifka and the late Martin Grifka. He married Mary Jane Osantowski on November 25, 1978 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Argyle. She preceded him in death on January 16, 2013.

            Harry attended Ubly High School. He was employed at CA Hull, working on bridge construction. Harry enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing, golfing and gardening. He cherished spending time with his grandchildren.

            Harry is survived by two daughters, Melissa Grifka (Benny) and Amy Grifka, both of Argyle; two sons, Harry M. Grifka (Leann) of Snover, Matthew Grifka of Argyle; ten grandchildren, Lindsey, Morgan, Kurt, Erik, James, Sara, William, Grace, Boni and Carter; his mother, Irene Wozniak of Harbor Beach;  two brothers, Larry Grifka (Sherry) of Ubly, Gary Grifka of Snover.

            Harry was preceded in death by one daughter, Sara Grifka; four brothers, Dave, Emmett, Roger and Lee Grifka; one sister, Barbie Grifka.

            The funeral service for Harry will be Wednesday, January 23 at 11:00 am at the Zinger-Smigielski Funeral Home in Ubly. Burial will be in the St. Ignatius Cemetery in Freiburg in the spring.

            Visitation will be at the funeral home on Tuesday from 2:00-8:00 pm and Wednesday from 10-10:45 am.

            Memorials have been requested to Harry’s family, care of his daughter, Amy Grifka.
