Mrs. Karen T. Bock, 69 of Ubly, passed away Sunday, August 7, 2022 at McLaren Thumb Region in Bad Axe.
Karen was born on April 9, 1953 in Bay City, MI to the late Arthur Frederick and Lois Joan (Savage) Sebald. She married Randy Gerald Bock on April 15, 1972 in Cass City, MI.
Karen was a graduate of Garber High School in Bay City. Throughout most of her life, she was first and foremost a farmer’s wife, farming by her husband’s side outside of her other various jobs. She was employed as a switchboard operator at General Hospital in Bay City. She served as Austin Township Treasurer for many years. Later in life, Karen became a CNA, continuing her natural motherly nature by taking care of others at the Huron County Medical Care Facility in Bad Axe. She enjoyed her horses, landscaping and planting flowers and crafting with her sisters. Karen really enjoyed traveling, especially to Alaska to see her brother.
Karen is survived by her husband, Randy of Ubly; one daughter, Tammy (Paul) Gugel of Caro; one son, Nathan (Ashley) Bock of Auburn; four sisters and one brother, Marlene Ballard of Gladwin, Glenn (Rebecca) Sebald of Anchorage, Alaska, Gayle (John) Nicol of Cass City, Deb (Al) Heikkila of Hale, Peggy (Neil) Lee of Ohio; four grandchildren, Jenna and Kylie Gugel of Caro, Miles and Silas Bock of Auburn; three brothers-in-law, Tom (Shari) Bock, Steve (Kathy) Bock, Dave (Shari) Bock, all of Cass City; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, father-in-law and mother-in-law, Gerald and Irva Bock; two brothers-in-law, Dale Ballard and Steve O’Meara; one sister-in-law, Diane Bock.
There will be a private memorial service to celebrate Karen’s life at a later date.
