Mr. Michael Schumacher, 69, of Ubly, passed away on Thursday, July 30, 2020 in Saginaw.
He was born on July 17, 1951 to the late Leonard and Mary (Schmitz) Schumacher in Bad Axe.
Michael was a graduate of Harbor Beach High School. Soon after, he started a lifelong career of carpentry work at Chinoski Construction. He later retired from Detroit Carpenters. Michael retired to South Carolina, but in the last few years returned to the Huron County area. He was an outdoors man that enjoyed hunting, fishing, and farming with his son-in-law. He liked smoking meat. Michael was a fan of going to the casino and playing cards. In the winter, he would spend time in the South. Michael absolutely adored his family and friends, especially making memories with his cherished grandchildren.
Michael is survived by two sons, Daniel (Cherie) Schumacher of Florida and Branden Schumacher of Arkansas; one daughter, Michelle (Rod) VanErp of Ubly; six beloved grandchildren: Noah and Connor Schumacher, Mikaela, Nolan, Alaina, and Aiden VanErp; siblings; Leonard Jr. (Myrt) Schumacher, Don (Betty) Schumacher, Joyce Winkel, Steve Schumacher, Joann Zdrojewski, Mary Lou (Tom) Wichert.
He was preceded in death by his son, Chad Schumacher; brothers, Larry and Robert Schumacher; his sister, Marlene Schumacher; brothers-in-law, Bob Zdrojewski and Melvin Winkel, sister-in-law, Mary Schumacher.
Memorials are suggested to the donor’s choice.
A celebration of Michael’s life will be held at a later date.
