June 10, 1938 — May 23, 2022

Robert Lipskey, age 83 of Minden City, passed away on Monday May 23, 2022, at Covenant Harrison Hospital, Saginaw after a long illness.

He was born June 10, 1938 in Detroit to Joseph and Julia (Olshove) Lipskey. He graduated from Ubly High School in 1957. He married Mary Nye on May 29, 1965, at St. John’s Catholic Church in Forestville, Michigan.

He was a village council trustee for many years and served as a volunteer fireman.  He was a parishioner of St. Mary Catholic Church, St. Isidore Parish in Parisville where he was a member of the parish council. He also worked in the manufacturing sector for many years.  Robert was a U.S. Army veteran, having served from 1961-1963.

Robert was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He cherished the time he spent with his family. He loved to plant flowers in the spring and cut the grass with his John Deere. Despite becoming an amputee in 2018, he was still determined to mow the lawn and he did.  Nothing could stop him when he made up his mind.  Robert spent lots of time “working” out in the garage or riding around on his golf cart.  He also loved to watch NASCAR and had quite the rivalry with his grandsons.

He is survived by his loving wife, Mary, of almost 57 years, daughters, Janet (Wayne) Schram, Cleveland, TN, Sherrie (Michael) Noble, Deckerville, MI; sons, Brian Lipskey, Ruth, MI, Jeffery (Darlene) Lipskey, Ubly, MI, Jason Lipskey, Ruth, MI; one brother, Raymond (Donna) Lipskey, Minden City, MI; one sister, Sheila Norton, Macomb, MI; Brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Richard and Grace Schroeder, Bob and Jean Schweitzer, John and Cheryl Nye; five grandchildren; four step grandchildren; four step great grandchildren; one great grandchild;  several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, June 11 from 10:00-11:00 am at St. Isidore Catholic Church, Parisville, MI.  A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am at the church with Rev.  Matthew Federico officiating.  A private family burial will be held at a later date.
